Not sure of the point of allowing signups then…
March 14th, 2008 by Jonathan JohnsonI received this email a few minutes ago:
Dear Registered iPhone Developer,
Thank you for expressing interest in the iPhone Developer Program. We have received your enrollment request. As this time, the iPhone Developer Program is available to a limited number of developers and we plan to expand during the beta period. We will contact you again regarding your enrollment status at the appropriate time.
It seems to me if they were only opening it up to select people, they should have held off on the signup form until they were actually ready for people to sign up. I guess they have to wait to get our $99.
Update:
It sounds like it was either first-come or random. I guess we fail for now.

Actually, I know a company that’s pretty big in the “media entertainment” business on the Mac and they were told that they’ll have good chances to get into the program soon. So, I guess that Apple is currently not ready to deal with the to-be-expected multitude of bug reports and questions from a lot of developers and rather like to focus on a few promising ones.

Oh, and I’m still waiting for a showstopper-bugfix to the edit control (wink wink).
I guess Alacatia has to wait to get my $xxx ;^)

Darn - the said company got rejected as well. Maybe they’re just testing their system.
